Ellie Parker (she/her) is a poet based in Brooklyn by way of Los Angeles and has been a member of the Echo Park Film Center Collective for over 10 years. Her work is interdisciplinary in nature, harmonizing text, the moving image, and photography. Passionate about the intersection of education activism and communal practice, Ellie is a Teaching Artist for youth film programs at BRIC Arts Media. She has also led media courses to youth & adults with other organizations such as EPFCC, Mono No Aware, and most recently at the Maysles Documentary Center in Harlem. While in the process of writing her forthcoming poetry chapbook, excerpts of which were recently published in Hood of Bone Review’s Issue 2, Ellie is training to become a tutor for the Petey Greene Program, the largest provider of college readiness programs for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people in the US.
